Six cyclists will be riding across northern Ohio this summer as part of Team ASLA in the 27th Annual "Tour des Trees". This year's ride takes place July 29 - August 4, with a 500 mile route looping from Columbus to Cleveland and back. The "Tour des Trees" raises money for the TREE (Tree Research and Education Endowment) Fund which supports:
· Scientific research on urban tree issues.
· Education programs related to trees.
· Scholarships for students aspiring to work with trees.
Representing the Indiana Chapter on Team ASLA are David Gorden and Kris May. They'll be joining over 100 other riders on part or all of the route - everyone pedaling for the good of trees. Along the way they'll be stopping for tree planting events and youth educational programs.
If you are a fan of trees, please support the TREE Fund through David and Kris. You can support them individually or Team ASLA. Follow these easy steps:
1. Go to www.treefund.org/tourdestrees
2. Follow "Donate" links.
3. Enter "David Gorden", or "Kris May", or "Team ASLA" and give.
An added request: In the message box, please request that your donation be designated to the Tree and Soil Research Fund for Landscape Architecture (TSRF). This fund will support areas of tree research specifically of interest to the landscape architecture community.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
